Who We Are
We were married in 2009 and have been pursuing tribal church planting and Bible translation ever since with the organization Ethnos Canada, formerly known as New Tribes Mission of Canada. Leo was born in 2012 and soon after, we joined the Emanate staff while we waited for him to recover from heart surgery. After his successful procedure and recovery, we moved to Asia-Pacific in 2015 where we began to study the national culture and language. Talia made her appearance in early 2017, and when she turned two months old we moved to Papua. We finished national culture and language study in the spring of 2018, and are now involved in teaching and discipling national pastors and evangelists at a local training centre. The graduates return to their villages to teach God's Word and make disciples. We work with people groups who have yet to understand the Gospel of grace or receive a Bible in their heart language.
Leo (age 5) moved to Java when he was 2 years old, and then to Papua when he was 4 years old. He loves riding on motorcycles, snorkeling, swimming in creeks, and eating sate and krupuk.
Talia (age 1) moved to Papua when she was 2 months old. She loves watching all the village dogs and chickens running around, the attention she gets in the market, eating fresh fruit, and clapping along to local nursery songs.
